The city of Cajvana is part of the north-western extremity of the Suceava Plateau, the hilly piedmont Marginea Ciungi. Cajvana is a locality in the county of Suceava or Bucovina, as it is called this wonderful land, known for the beauties offered by the natural frame, and especially for the valuable historical and art monuments, testimonies of the existence of a rich spiritual and material life of the older times. In Romania, a city can be considered a city (according to the norms of population statistics and regulations on the central administration line), if they have a certain number of inhabitants, usually over 5,000, and at the same time meets certain standards regarding the economic development, the urban amenities and a certain infrastructure . Thus, through Law no. 83 of April 7, 2004 Cajvana commune becomes the city of Cajvana.
